Copper, nickel rises on heavy industrial demand
Mumbai, Apr 2 (UNI) Copper and nickel rose on heavy industrial demand as the London Metal Exchange also went up on better buying support, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) today said.
In ferrous section, copper heavy, brass cuttings, copper utensils and brass utensils hiked by Rs 500, Rs 400, Rs 300 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on increase of heavy demand.
In non-ferrous section
Nickel cathode went up by Rs 40 per kg on improved demand.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 33,600, Copper utensils - Rs 31,000, Brass utensils - Rs 24,600, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,200 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,800.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 36,900, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,000, Zinc slab Rs 18,000, Lead ingots - Rs 9,500, Tin slab - Rs 750 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,260 (per kg).
