Hyderabad, Apr 2 (UNI) The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) today urged Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, son of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy not to return the lands allotted to him by the government for setting up a mega cement factory in the backward Kadapa district of Rayalaseema region simply because of opposition criticism.

Talking to newspersons at the CLP office, newlyelected MLCs Mohd Jani and Chengalrayudu said Jaganmohana Reddy should not be disheartened by the criticism of the opposition TDP as they were deliberately trying to hamper development in the state.

Stating that the proposed Rs 500 crore Raghuram Cements factory project in which Jaganamohan Reddy was a director, would produce 6,800 tonnes of cement per annum and have massive employment potential, the Congress leaders said the decision of Jagan Mohana Reddy would be of great loss to the people of Kadapa district.

The Congress leaders alleged that the TDP government had sold 150 acres for the same project when it was proposed to be set up by Raghuram, TDP senior leader and Rajya Sabha member C Ramachandraiah's brother.

''When it allotted land for the same factory, it was right and when Jagan Mohan Reddy had taken over the project, how could allottment of land be wrong,'' they questioned.

Stating that the barren land which would not cost even Rs 15,000 was sold to the factory for Rs 1 lakh, they challenged TDP supremo and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to come with them to the area along with media and enquire about the land cost.
