Cabinet approves upgradation of 94 posts

Shimla, Apr 2 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet today said the sale of vends under the new Excise Policy 2007-08, was successful and encouraging.

However, the meeting, presided over by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, said the remaining unsold 109 units of 233 vends, would be sold to the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation.

These sales would be based on the same terms and conditions as applicable to other buyers under the provisions of the Excise Policy, besides reducing the Value Added Tax (VAT) on liquor from the existing 20 per cent to four per cent, it added.

The Cabinet sanctioned creation and upgradation of 94 posts in diferent categories. These included upgradation of 75 posts of Senior Assistants to Superintendent Grade II in all Block Medical offices in the Health and Family Welfare Department.

It also approved the Fertiliser Policy for the year 2007-08 to provide subsidised fertiliser to farmers besides the Himachal Pradesh Private Clinical establishment Registration and Regulation Bill 2007.
