BJP, TDP,TRS to fight against Babli project in Maharashtra
Hyderabad, Apr 02 (UNI) The BJP, TDP and TRS today warned the Maharashtra Government that they would launch an agitation if it did not stop the Babli Project across river Godavari immediately.
Speaking at separate media conferences here, BJP Andhra Pradesh unit president Bandaru Dattatreya, TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao and TDP deputy Floor Leader in the Assembly T Devender Goud alleged that the Maharashtra Government was going on with the project without obtaining clearances. They threatened to raise the issue in Parliament and move the Supreme Court to halt the project.
The three leaders said that if Babli project was completed, the Sriramsagar project across Godavari in Telangana, would dry up.
They alleged that the laxity of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was responsible for the Maharashtra Government going ahead with the project.
Dr Reddy could not mount pressure either on the Maharashtra Government or the UPA Government at the Centre headed by Congress party to halt the project work.
