BEML to tap windpower
Bangalore, Apr 2 (UNI) State-owned Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) will soon start work on a windmill farm in Chitradurga in Karnataka to generate 5 MW of power.
The project, to cost around Rs 25 crore, would be executed by windmill expert Suzlon, BEML Chairman and Managing Director V R S Natarajan told newspersons here today.
He said the power generated from the plant in Chitradurga would be wheeled into the State grid and BEML would tap it in its units in Bangalore, Mysore or Kolar Gold Fields according to need.
