Bandh over OBC issue on April 4

Hyderabad, Apr 2 (UNI) A bandh will be observed in Andhra Pradesh on April four to protest against the Supreme Court staying reservation for OBCs in higher educational institutions including IITs and IIMs.

Responding to the bandh call given by the Andhra Pradesh State Backward Classes President R Krishnaiah, the main opposition Telugu Desam Party and Telangana Rashtra Samiti announced support to the bandh. The aim was to press for convening a special session of Parliament to adopt a Constitutional amendment bill and save the future of OBC students.

In a statement here, they also appealed to various BC organisations to make the bandh a success.
