Army kills four ULFA militants in an encounter in Asom

Guwahati, Apr 2 (UNI) Four United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) militants were killed in an encounter with the Army at Kagramari under Tangla police station of Udalguri district of Asom today.

Meanwhile, the ULFA has called a 12-hour statewide bandh from 0600 hrs of April 4 to protest the 'atrocities' perpetrated by the Asom police on the wives of six ULFA leaders who had allegedly gone missing since December 2003 following their arrest by the Royal Bhutan Army.

The wives of the militants were arrested on March 30 last by the city police on charges of attempt to commit suicide and were admitted to hospital.
