37 papers rejected in phase III; 225 files for phase-IV

Lucknow, Apr 2 (UNI) Altogether 37 nominations papers were rejected for the third phase of assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh while 225 candidates filed their nominations for the fourth Phase today.

Now 1032 candidates are left in the fray for the third phase, polling in which will be held on April 18 across 57 assembly constituencies.

Last date of withdrawal for phase-III is April 4.

Nominations for phase-IV will continue upto April 4. Scrutiny of papers will be undertaken on April 5 while the last date of withdrawal is April 7. Polling will be held on April 23 across 57 assembly constituencies for which 417 aspirants have filed their papers so far.

Meanwhile the notification for the fifth phase for holding elections to 58 assembly seats will be issued tomorrow where polling will be done on April 28.

The poll process for the second phase of polling to be held on April 13 has also been completed with 883 candidates in the fray. In the first phase as many as 848 candidates will battle it out for 62 seats.
