16 injured in clash

Jabalpur, Apr 2 (UNI) Sixteen people were injured when members of two communities clashed with each other following an argument at Paat Baba hill in this district, police said today.

About 200 people had gathered to take part in a religious programme at Paat Baba hill yesterday. In the meantime, members of another community also reached there and both sides had an argument over some issue.

Both the sides pelted stones and attacked each other with sticks.

Eight people from both the sides were injured. Two workers were injured seriously.

Police reached the spot and calmed down workers of both the communities. The injured were admitted to hospital.

Later, member of both the communities reached police station and demanded registering of cases against the other side. Senior police officials assured that action would be taken against those found guilty after inquiry.
