Unemployment dole, 'home treatment' for sr citizen soon: Shastri
New Delhi, Apr 1 (UNI) The youth being entitled to 'unemployment dole' and senior citizens receiving 'healthcare at doorsteps' for Rs 25 -- are some of the string of measures Delhi Health Minister Yoganand Shastri today announced, on municipal elections eve, to make it a 'world class' city.
Addressing the complaint of shortages, he said all vacancies in Delhi hospitals would be filled within three months. Nearly 1.75 lakh paramedicos will be appointed on contract basis in the next fiscal plan of the Delhi government, said the minister at a press conference.
''While old age pension would increase from Rs 350 to Rs 400, more old age homes would be opened along with three additional 'trauma centres' at Bawana, Mayur Vihar and South Delhi.'' Besides, from present 70, the number of ambulances would be increased to 450 in the next fiscal, said Mr Shastri.
DPCC chairman Ram Babu Sharma said he was sure the Congress would romp home with a two-third majority in the MCD elections.
''Based on the response I have received in over 50 public meetings addressed so far, I am sure the Congress would get a two-third majority notwithstanding the rumours of the BJP on sealing, demolition and Masterplan 2021.'' UNI AN PA KN1540
