Two more lion bodies found in Gir Forest, eight deaths in one month
Junagadh, Gujarat, April 1 (UNI) Even as the Gujarat government has ordered a CID inquiry into the poaching of Asiatic Lions into the Gir Sanctuary in last one month, Forest officials have found out two more carcases of lions today.
The recovery of two more lion carcasses brings up the total number of lion deaths to eight in last one month.
According to Chief Conservator of Gir Forest Sanctuary Bharat Pathak, the body of a four-year-old lion was found from near the banks of Raval River in Khimrava area of the Sanctuary.
Another body of a lion-cub was found from Alavadi area in Sasan zone of Western Gir Forest, Mr Pathak said.
