TMC continue agitation against taking over of fertile land

Barrackpore, Apr 1 (UNI) All India Trinamool Congress General Secretary Mukul Roy today reaffirmed his party's stand to continue movement against procurement of fertile land for industrialisation.

The party and the Paschim Banga Krishi Jami Raksha Committee must not give up until West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee steps down and a case of abetment in the Nandigram carnage was registered against him.

Addressing a gathering at Ichhapur Maniktala in North 24 Parganas, on the occasion of the seventh death anniversary of party leader Bikash Basu, organised by the Noapara Town Trinamool Congress, Mr Roy alleged Mr Bhattacharjee had instigated such a carnage by deploying the police and party cadres to kill villagers in Nandigram, who protested against his 'scrap land acquisition order'.

The TMC leader also criticised those who favoured Mr Bhattacharjee's stand in this regard.

The Noapara Town Congress organised a blood donation camp in memory of the March 14 carnage.
