SP manifesto promises sky for minority,unemployed and weaker section
Lucknow, Apr 1(UNI) Promising trebling the unemployment allowance from existing Rs five hundred per month, free education upto post-graduate level, recruitment of minority members in police and para military as well as in other government jobs according to their population, were the chief features of the election manifesto of ruling Samajwadi Party released here this evening.
SP President and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh, who released the manifesto in the presence of party General Secretary Amar Singh, senior leader Mohan Singh and party MP Jaya Prada declared all the promises made in it would be implemented with in an hour of his taking oath after registering the victory in the coming Uttar Pradesh assemebly polls starting April 7.
The election manifesto promised to increase the amount of Kanya Vidya Dhan, a popular scheme of the Mulayam government, from the existing Rs 20,000 per month to Rs 25,000 per month beside hiking the unemployment allowance to Rs 1500 per month.
Claiming that the oposition parties were just engaged in negative tactics to oust the SP from the power, Mr Yadav and Mr Singh said their party's emphasis would continue to be on the progress and development of minorities, backward and downtrodden classess of the society.
In an attempt to plecate his traditional support base among the minorities, the SP supremo said while his government became the first to implement the recommendations of the Sacchar Committee --- would implement remaining recommendations for the welfare of minority class.
