Siddramaiah calls for bandh in Mysore today

Mysore, Apr 1 (UNI) Former Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader Siddramaiah called for a bandh in Mysore today to protest against the alleged high handedness of ruling party by arresting him and obstructing the development works in his Jayapura village constituency.

Speaking to newspersons here, Mr Siddramaiah alleged the government had arrested him, foisting false charges against him.

Mysore city Congress President Dase Gowda, present on the occasion, requested the people should support tomorrow's bandh to register their protest against the state government.

Meanwhile, the workers protesting against the arrest of Mr Siddramaiah torched two KSRTC bus near Jayapura and Udbur village and staged road blockades in and around the city.

Mysore District BJP President M G Ramakrishnappa's vehicles were allegedly attacked by the protestors at H D Kote Road this night.

Mr Siddramiah and others were yet to be released.

Tense situation prevailed at Jayapura and additional police force had been deployed at various places.
