Security beefed up in Sitamarhi following maoist attack
Patna, Apr 01 (UNI) Ealborate security arrangements have been made and strict vigil was being maitained at vital installations in Sitamarhi district following the attack by maoist extremists on Riga police station, block office and banks in the district yesterday.
District Police Superintendent of Sitamarhi M.R.Naik said massive combing operation had been launched to flush out the naxalites from the district. He said security personnel had been deputed at the vital installations to foil any disruptive activities of the naxalites.
''Security personnel deputed along Indo-Nepal border was taking extra care to prevent the movements of maoist activists from across the border'' he added.
Meanwhile, Safety Commissioner of Samastipur Rail Division A.N.
Jha said security arrangements had been strengthened along Sitamarhi -Bargania and Raxaul-Narkatiaganj section of East Central Railway (ECR).
He said train services which were suspended on Bargania-Sitamarhi section following naxalites attack, had been restored this morning.
Earlier, during the naxalite attack on Riga police station in Sitamarhi district yesterday, a jawan of Special Auxiliary Police (SAP) Madan Lal Prasad was killed while a homeguard jawan had sustained injuries.
