SAARC Car rally welcomed in Haryana

Ambala, Apr 1 (UNI) The SAARC Car Rally was welcomed by Haryana Chief Secretary Prem Parshant and officers of the Ambala district administration, including Commissioner Ambala Division Mahavir Singh, and was flagged off for further journey today from the tourist complex King Fisher, Ambala.

As soon as 105 rallyists from India, Pakistan, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh and Maldives entered King Fisher tourist complex here in their 30 vehicles, folkartistes like 'Banjaras', 'Been Vadaks' and 'Saperas' besides school students welcomed them.

The Ambala Commissioner while welcoming the SAARC Car Rally said the aim of the rally was to foster brotherhood, friendship, peace and prosperity and over all economic and human development in the SAARC fraternity, seemed on right track as all the rallyists were satisfied over the response they had received during the journey while passing through different countries.

Mr K S Chauhan, leader of the team, said the hospitality extended and love shown by the people of Haryana was overwhelming and added that they had got the good response from the governments and the people in the region indicating that all these countries were aiming at improving ties with each other.
