Ramadoss protests against delay over nominated members
Puducherry, Apr 1 (UNI) Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder-leader Dr S Ramdoss today took strong exception to continued delay in appointing the nominated members to the territorial assembly.
In a statement here, Dr Ramdoss said at the time of assembly elections, the Congress had entered into an agreement with th PMK and CPI that a nominated member each would be provided to the two parties.
But even after ten months, no action was taken and the matter was taken to the notice of AICC President Mrs Sonia Gandhi who gave approval to it. The delay even after this was violation of the agreement and showed that the Chief Minister was not respecting the party High Command, he said.
He demanded that if there was any problem within the Congress party on finalising the candidate for the nominated post, it should be granted to the PMK and CPI immediately as the parties had given the names of their candidates already.
Congress should try to honour the agreement by appointing the nominated members immediately.
