Rajasthan CS asked To File Reply:Pollution In Haryana

Chandigarh, Apr 1 (UNI) The Punjab and Haryana High Court has asked Rajasthan's Chief Secretary to file his response to the complaint of some villagers from Rewari district of Haryana alleging that untreated effluents from industrial units located in adjoining area of Rajasthan were causing serious pollution and leading to destruction of crops and the soil in their fields.

The matter has been brought to the notice of the High Court by a letter.

Taking cognizance of difficulties of the farmers of Haryana whose fields were located close to the border, the division bench of the Chief Justice Vijender Jain and Justice Rajive Bhalla treated the communication from one Abhey Singh and others, as a PIL.

The matter would now come up for further hearing on April 18 when the bench espected the version of the Rajssthan government in this respect.

During an earlier hearing, the bench had issued notices also to Haryana government to file its response on the issue raised in letter sent by the villagers from Rewari.
