Modi inaugurates Rs 200-cr French Power Transformer Plant

Vadodara, Apr 1 (UNI) Chief Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone for the Rs 200-crore French Power Transformer Plant here as part of his endeavour of making Gujarat the first energy surplus state in the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Modi said the plant is being set up by world renowned Ariva T&D Company of France as part of its MoU signed with th state Government, during the recently held 'Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit-2007' in Ahmedabad.

the plant will become operational in December-2008, he said, adding that this was a result of Gujarat Government's proactive approach in inviting entrepreneurs from all over the world to invest in the state.

The Central Government should also lay emphasis on focussing on pre-planned infrastructural facilities for faster development of the country, Mr Modi said.
