Lift irrigation scheme to be restarted in MP: CM
Umaria, MP, Apr 1 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today announced that this district headquarters would be made a powerhub like Sidhi, a lift irrigation scheme restarted and the ban on purchase of sal seed revoked for benefitting tribals.
''The Jandarshan programme is a medium for obtaining feedback on implementation of schemes. Food Department official S L Prajapati and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan District Coordinator C L Soni were suspended for carelessness in foodgrain distribution and school building construction respectively,'' he told mediapersons in Bandhavgarh.
Pointing out that the lift irrigation scheme was earlier shelved on account of the state's power problem, Mr Chouhan claimed that Madhya Pradesh would soon be self-sufficient on the electricity front and added that, in view of examinations, evening outages were done away with.
While addressing a meeting in Manpur, the Chief Minister said that Manpur village panchayat would be accorded the status of a town panchayat, Rs 2 crore would be spent on a road, bridges laid over the Son and Jahila rivers.
