Hindustan Salts Limited CMD, associate arrested for bribery

New Delhi, Apr 1 (UNI) The CBI today arrested the Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Salts Limited, Jaipur along one of his associate for allegedly demanding bribe to release payments of a contractor.

An associate of K Ponnu Chamy, CMD Hindustan Salts Limited, Jaipur, Shashi was arrested yesterday by the CBI from a guest house at New Friends Colony here while accepting Rs 50,000 on his behalf, according to the CBI.

After he confessed to his and the CMD's involvement, Chamy was 'picked' from Tamil Nadu Bhawan here and arrested.

Searches at Chamy's Jaipur residence led to the rceovery of 2.6 lakh cash and papers indicating several investments.
