Congress demands apology from Naidu to Telangana people
Hyderabad, Apr 1 (UNI) Senior Congress leader P Janardhana Reddy today demanded an apology from TDP supremo and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to the people of the Telangana region ''for allegedly hurting their sentiments.'' Talking to newspersons here, he alleged that Mr Naidu had said during the silver jubilee celebrations of his party that the former Chief Minister T Anjaiah and the people of Telangana were lazy. The late Anjaiah, who started his life as a daily wage earner and rose to become Chief Minister, was prompt in attending to the problems of poor, he added.
Mr Reddy reminded Mr Naidu that only Anjaiah had given him a place in his cabinet and even personally talked to former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao and fixed Naidu's marriage with Mr Rao's daughter.
Alleging that Mr Naidu was in the habit of ''betraying'' those who helped him, Mr Reddy said the TDP supremo pulled down the Government of Mr Rama Rao, who gave him two important portfolios in his cabinet.
He also alleged that Mr Naidu had betrayed his brothers-in-law Hari Krishna and Dr D Venkateswara Rao, who helped him to become Chief Minister by not offering them any positions.
He has also dismissed the claim of Mr Naidu that Telangana witnessed progress only during his tenure.
