Assam Rifles day observed

Imphal, Apr 1 (UNI) The HQ 27 Sector Assam Rifles was celebrating its fourth raising day at Churachandpur district.

The celebrations began on March 30 and concluded today with a special Sainik Sammelan. A large number of civil officials as well as Assam Rifles ex-servicemen also attended the programme.

Orchestra and a short cultural programme were organised for people. The most splendid show of the raising day celebrations was the theme based sound and light choreography conducted last evening.

The historical background of Churachandpur district and cultural traditions of hill tribes were depicted in the programme.

A short vision document for the district was portrayed through dance and music.

This was infused with selected pieces of dance and music from across the nation. All the programmes were performed by mostly children and non-professional groups from the district.
