Two people remanded to police custody in betting case
Barasat, Mar 31(UNI) Two people were remanded to police custody by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Hargovind Singh here at Barasat in connection with a betting case.
However, one person was remanded to judicial custody.
They were arrested from the city and adjoining North 24 Parganas by Special Operation Group of the CID yesterday.
Police said Anil Bagaria, Praveen Kochar and Rajesh Agarwal were arrested for their involvement in the betting network.
A case has been registered against them under Sections 3 and 4 of the West Bengal Gambling and Prize Competition Act.
The court remanded Anil Bagaria and Praveen Kochar to police custody for seven and three days respectively while Rajesh Agarwal to judicial custody for 14 days.
