SWR to run specials to clear summer rush

Bangalore, Mar 31 (UNI) South Western Railway will run Summer Special trains to cope up with extra rush during the forthcoming summer holidays.

Bangalore City - Ernakulam triweekly special, train no 0637, would leave Bangalore City at 1715 hrs on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays and reach Ernakulam junction at 0430 hrs next day, a SWR press release said.

On the return direction, the train no 0638 Ernakulam-Bangalore City will leave Ernakulam Junction at 1700 hrs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday and reach Bangalore City at 0420 hrs the next day. The first service from Ernakulam would commence from April one and the last service will be on June 29. The train would comprise of one three tier AC coach, 13 second class coaches, two general second class coaches and two second class sitting cum luggage van.

Bangalore City-Madurai-Nagercoil Tri-weekly special, train No 0647, would leave Bangalore City at 1745 hrs Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays and arrive at Madurai at 0630 hrs and reach Nagercoil at 1045 hrs. While, train no 0648, Madurai-Bangalore city tri weekly special would leave Nagercoil on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 1230 hrs and arrive at Madurai at 2020 hrs and reach Bangalore City at 0900hrs the next day.

The first service from Bangalore city from April one and the last service will be on June 28. The train will comprise one three tier AC coach, nine second class sleeper coaches, two general second class coaches and two second class sitting cum luggage van, the press release said.
