Kolkata, Mar 31 (UNI) Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi today said the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Nandigram was not approved by the Central government.

Addressing a convention here, Mr Dasmunsi said Nandigram was never cleared for the SEZ project by the Centre.

He charged the ruling Left Front government in the state with unleashing ''misinformation'' campaign against the Congress and said most of the industries were set up during the latter's regime.

He said the CPI (M) was now on a backfoot over the Nandigram issue.

Mr Dasmunsi said the Congress would fight against the CPI(M)-led Left Front government in the state to protest the Nandigram incident.

''We are urging Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee to see the March 14 video-clipping of Nandigram incident, '' he said adding the CM was ''misled by his own party and police''.

The Chief Minister must publish a ''white paper'' on the total investment plan and it should be tabled in the Assembly.

'' We are also congratulating the Trinamool Congress for taking a privilege motion against the Speaker,'' he stated.

He said the Article 356 could not be imposed in the state, adding the only way to create pressure on the government was to unite the people.
