Nagaland bans poultry from Myanmar
Kohima, Mar 31 (UNI) Nagaland government has banned import of poultry and other livestock from Myanmar and Manipur with an immediate effect, an official release today said.
The ban had been imposed in view of the reports of Bird flu in various parts of the North Eastern states and neighbouring Myanmar and Bangladesh, the release issued by Commissioner and Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen added.
The step was taken in the interest of the public under Nagaland Livestock Poultry Contagious Disease Act, 1980 and would continue till further order, the release stated.
