Maoists attack Jhitka forest
Midnapore, Mar 31 (UNI) A group of about 25 Maoists today attacked the Jhitka forest under Lalgar police station.
Police said the Maoists had come to the forest and demanded fine for cutting down trees. When the officials refused to comply, they set the truck, tractor and the woods, worth Rs 25 lakh, on fire.
In September last, one police officer was killed and six photographers, including journalists, were injured when the the policeman tried to open a can containing explosives.
