Major administrative reshuffle in Punjab

Chandigarh, Mar 31 (UNI) In a major administrative reshuffle, the Punjab Government today ordered transfer and posting of 24 IAS officers with immediate effect in the state.

Mr B R Bajaj, Principal Secretary, Local Government and Information Technology, has been transfered and posted as Principal Secretary, Higher Education and Languages vice Mr Narinderjit Singh.

He will, however, continue to be Principal Secretary, Information Technology.

Mr G S Cheema, Financial Commissioner, Revenue, and Mrs Romila Dubey, Chairperson, Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training, swap their posts.

Mr Vijay Kain, Principal Secretary, Water Supply and Sanitation, goes as Principal Secretary, Defence Services Welfare relieving Mrs Geetika Kalha of this additional charge.

Mr R N Gupta, Principal Secretary, Public Grievances and Pensions, has been posted as Financial Commissioner, Forests and Wildlife relieving Mr D S Jaspal and Mr Ramesh Inder Singh of the respective additional charges.

Mr S C Agrawal, Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, has been transfered and posted as Financial Commissioner, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries vice Mr D S Bains.

Mr D S Jaspal, Principal Secretary, Information and Public Relations and, in addition, Financial Commissioner, Forests, becomes Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare vice Mr A R Talwar.

In addition, he will be Principal Secretary, Medical Education and Research vice Mr J R Kundal.

Mr J R Kundal, Principal Secretary, Medical Education and Research and, in addition, Principal Secretary, Social Security, Development of Women and Children, has been posted as Principal Secretary, Water Supply and Sanitation vice Mr Vijay Kain.

Ms Kusumjit Sidhu, Principal Secretary, Irrigation, has been transfered and posted as Financial Commissioner, Cooperation, relieving Mr G S Sandhu of this additional charge.

Mr A R Talwar, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, has been sent as Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce vice Mr S C Agrawal.

Mr D S Bains, Financial Commissioner, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries, becomes Principal Secretary, Local Government vice Mr B R Bajaj.

Mr Suresh Kumar, Secretary, Power and, in addition, Commissioner, NRIs Affairs, becomes Secretary, Power. He will also function as Secretary, Irrigation vice Ms Kusumjit Sidhu.
