M A M Ramaswamy, Leading Individual Owner at Bangalore races

Bangalore, Mar 31 (UNI) Industrialist Dr M A M Ramaswamy, who had won a stake of Rs 1.33 crore, bagged the Leading Individual Owner memento in the Bangalore Winter meeting 2006-2007, today.

Bangalore Turf Club Chairman and Senior Steward Marlingaiah presented the mementoes.

M/s Poonawala Racing Breed Limited and Capt. Jamshed J Appoo were the leading joint owners with a stake of Rs 12.5 lakhs.

While S Ganapathy with 31 winners claimed the Champion Trainer memento, the Champion Jockey title went to K P G appu with 41 winners. Ashwin Rao, with five winners, was the Champion Indian Jockey Claiming Allowance.

'Star Luminary' was declared the Champion Horse with a stake of Rs 47.6 lakh. It is the property of Dr Ramaswamy, trained by S Ganapathy and bred at Usha Stud Farm.

The horse of the season 'Lava' had won three races and was placed second thrice. It is the property of Mr C Shivamani, trained by B Puttanna and bred at Pratap Stud.

Kunigal Stud Farm with 39 winners was the leading stud farm.

M/s Kumar Company with a total field money of Rs 30 lakhs was the Leading Bookmaker in first enclosure and M/s B N K Enterprises with a total field money of Rs 5.7 lakh in the second enclosure.

Prajavani with 109 winners became the Leading Tipster (Newspaper) and Race Card Publisher, The Racing Today, with 102 winners.
