Leopard kills boy
Jammu, Mar 31 (UNI) In yet another case of human-wildlife conflict, a leopard killed a minor boy at Kathogra village in Khileni area of Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, sources today said.
Eleven-year-old Jagtu was the assisting his father Suram Chand in his fields yesterday when a leopard attacked him.
Suram Chand ran for his rescue but by that time Jagtu was critically injured. The big cat escaped after dragging the boy to some distance.
Jagtu was taken to hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The incident has mounted fear of leopard among the locals, sources said.
Many lives--both human and animals--have been lost in the increasing man-wildlife encounters in this Himalayan state.
