Largest ever 'Mega Swayamvaram' in Chennai

Chennai, Mar 31: The 'TamilMatrimony.com', part of the country's leading matrimony portal 'BharatMatrimony.com' and BharatMatrimony Centre conducted the world's largest Matrimony meet'(''Mega Swayamvaram'' 2007) in the city.

The one-day long programme was attended by about 10,000 Tamil speaking people from over nine major communities in the state yesterday.

According to the programme, the 'Mega Swayamvaram 2007' was the first of its kind in which more than 2500 prospective singles gathered under the same roof to find their life partner.

The event was conducted in three different sessions for the respective communities. An exclusive session for members, who opted for 'caste no bar' was held as part of the programme.

BharatMatrimony group founder and CEO Murugavel Janakiraman said ''we at BharatMatrimony staunchly believe in the institution of marriage and we take pride in creating successful platforms for bringing together like-minded people to find their ideal life partners''.

According to the officials, the 'Mega Swayamvaram 2007' was the the second such event organised by the company.

The previous meets in the year 2002' attracted over 5000 participants including 1600 prospective singles from all major communities in Tamil Nadu.

The event was being arranged both for non-members and members of Tamilmatrimony.com.
