Kalam, Shekhawat greet nation on Milad-un-Nabi
New Delhi, Mar 31 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam and Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat have greeted the people on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, the day Prophet Mohammed made his descent on earth.
''On the auspicious occasion of the birthday of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad Saheb, I extend my greetings to all my people in India and abroad.
Recalling a 'Hadeed' of the Prophet, Dr Kalam said, ''One's faith is not complete until he enjoys three attributes: charity, justice for all and seeking peace for all.'' ''May this message of the Holy Prophet inspire us in our daily lives and to spread the message of universal brotherhood, compassion, tolerance and service to humanity,'' the President said.
In his message of good wishes, Mr Shekhawat said the Prophet showed to the mankind the path of righteousness, compassion, charity and brotherhood. ''Let his message provide us spiritual happiness, peace and virtue and inspire us to work for the welfare of the poor and the downtrodden.'' The Vice President expressed the hope that the festival would unite the people in a common brotherhood of humanity and fill their lives with peace and prosperity.
