Joint RTO check nets Rs 9 lakh as fine

Vadodara, Mar 30 (UNI) The RTO officials from Vadodara, Bharuch, Anand and Nadiad centres conducted surprise checks at different places on the national highway No 8 and recovered Rs 9 lakh as fine.

In a switched area operation last night, the RTO officials verified tax payments of trucks, tempos and public carriage buses and recovered fine totalling Rs 9 lakh in one single night.

Many commercial vehicles had evaded tax payment, which are to be paid monthly, an official release said.
