Heat wave conditions prevail in N. Rajasthan, west MP, Guj

Pune, Mar 31 (UNI) Heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of north Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh and at isolated places in Gujarat and north madhya Maharashtra.

Day temperatures were markedly above normal in Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Saurashtra and Kutch. They were appreciably above normal in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, east Madhya Pradesh, south madhya Maharashtra, Chattisgarh and in some parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and were above normal in Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in some parts of Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka and were below normal in some parts of Orissa. They were appreciably to markedly above normal in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, madhya Maharashtra and in some parts of West Bengal and Sikkim and were above normal in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya, Konkan and Goa, Marathwada, Vidarbha, coastal and north interior Karnataka and were above normal in some parts of Jharkhand, Chattisgarh and of Telangana. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Very light rains have occurred at isolated places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Orissa, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Chattisgarh, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the Lakshadweep.
