Govt supportive of RBI's hike in CRR, Repo rate

Mumbai, Mar 31 (UNI) Finance Minister P Chidambaram has said that the government was fully supportive of RBI's hike in CRR and Repo Rate.

Speaking at the sidelines of Harmony Art exhibition that he inaugurated here last evening, Mr Chidambaram said that the RBI had consulted the government before hiking the CRR and repo rates.

The Harmony Art Exhibition features 250 works of 128 artists.

Works of two emerging artists under 35 years of age will be exhibited in the show and they will receive 'Harmony Excellence Award' of Rs one lakh each.

The 'Harmony Heritage Award for Lifetime Contribution' carrying a prize of Rs two lakh for Lifetime Contribution in the field of Art, Culture and Literature will also be presented at the show.

Sakti Burman has been selected as the artist in focus for this year's Harmony Art Show.

The panel of jury for this year's show, chaired by Ms Tina Ambani, included Ms Sarayu Doshi, Harsh Goenka, Dilip De, Shakti Parmar and Parmeshwar Godrej.

Besides this, the Art show will provide platform to children of Aseema, an NGO dedicated to the rehabilitation and education of street children to showcase their work.

The show will remain open to the public from Saturday March 31 to April 8 between 1000 hrs to 1900 hrs.
