Four policemen suspended

Bhind, MP, Mar 31 (UNI) Four policemen, including the Andori Station House Officer, have been suspended on the charge of illegally collecting money from drivers, police said.

Andori SHO Rahul Sharma, head constable Vishram Singh, constables Vinod Jatav and Samrath Singh were illegally collecting money in the name of checking.

In the meantime, a three-wheeler sped off and fell into a pond. As a result, the vehicle caught fire.

The incident agitated villagers, who 'gheraoed' Andori police station and staged 'chakkajam'. Police resorted to canecharging further incensing the mob, which replied by pelting stones.

Superintendent of Police B Vayangankar had suspended the four policemen with immediate effect.
