Five persons of single family killed in road accident

Bangalore, Mar 31 (UNI) Five persons of a family, including two women, were killed and four others injured when their van collided headon with a tanker, carrying aviation fuel, near Channarayapatna, about 120 km from here, today.

Hassan police said that while three were killed on the spot, two others died on the way to hospital.

The deceased, who belonged to Yelahanka in the city, were returning after a pilgrimage tour to Kukke Subramanya in Dakshina Kannada district. The dead were identified as Kusuma (24), Nagu Bai (70), Babu Rao (60), Srinivas Rao and Chandrashekar (28).

The injured were admitted to a hospital in Channarayapatna.
