Five killed in cracker unit explosion

Malappuram, Mar 31 (UNI) At least five people were killed and five others injured, three of them seriously, when a fire broke out in a cracker factory at Pangad in Malappuram district of Kerala.

Police said the incident took place at around 1800 hrs when a group of labourers were engaged in preparing fireworks.

The bodies could not be identified immediately.

The five injured, were admitted to different hospitals.
