Efforts to bring naxalites to mainstream:Gavit

Betul, MP, Mar 31 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Home Manikrao Gavit today said effort would be made to bring naxals into the mainstream with the help of naxalite-affected states.

Mr Gavit said the naxalite-affected state governments must present a proposal in this regard to the Centre.

He was speaking to reporters at Ghodadongri railway station in Betul while returning from Chhindwara where he was to take part in a programme organised by the Tribal Welfare Council.

Union Agriculture Minister Kantilal Bhuria was also present on the occasion.

Mr Gavit alleged that the Centre was providing funds to the state government for public-welfare related schemes but the latter was taking away the credit by describing the schemes as their own.
