Mumbai, Mar 31 (UNI) Deepti Toor showcased balanced fabrics with the most elegant basic silhouettes that added class and style to the garments and was a collection that told a simple fashion story at the Lakme Fashion Week here today.

Creating special weaves for her classic mini and knee length dresses, Deepti worked with cotton wool with the ikat weave, cotton in the modilino, rib, plain and satin textures and then added cotton wool tensile for twills, ending with paper mesh nylon.

The colours were earthy brown, rust, grey, ivory which were contrasted for simple collars, sleeves, hem lines and yokes.

Where Deepti scored was with the minute detailing which she used in the form of dual tones for hem rouching or for a striped fabric which was pleated beautifully to turn it into a will power dress.

Bell sleeves, deep V necks at the back, roll collars, concealed pockets, and pinafores with weaving details and a sleeveless coat with flat contrast collar teamed with a black shift dress were some of the interesting effects.

Deepti Toor proved that simple shapes, a unique fabric choice, controlled embellishments is all that is necessary to present a collection that is not only eye catching on the ramp but highly saleable too.
