Day temperature rising alarmingly in Talcher

Talcher, Mar 31 (UNI) The day temperature in Talcher Industrial belt has touched 43 degree Celsius mark on March 25 and remained above 42 degree Celsius in last ten days indicating a fear of fierce summer days ahead.

According to data available from local sub-collector office, the temperature started rising from March 15 last after remaining at 38 degree Celsius for four days and then it shot up to more than 42 degree Celsius from March 19 last.

But on March 25 it went up to almost 43 degree Celsius. Last year in March the temperature crossed 45 degree Celsius for two days and remained above 42 degree Celsius from March 19 as per the official record.

Interestingly, when the temperature crossed more than 42 degree Celsius in Talcher, it remained below 40 degree Celsius in the surrounding places, including Angul town.

During 2005 Talcher hogged national headline for recording above 50 degree Celsius.
