BJP ups ante for MCD polls, national leaders hold public meeting
New Delhi, Mar 31 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to utilise the services of its national leaders Vijay Kumar Malhotra, Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Shahnawaz Hussein and Vijay Goel for campaigning in the ensuing Municipal Corporation of Delhi polls.
Addressing a press conference here, BJP Delhi Pradesh incharge and chairman of the election campaign committee V K Malhotra said prominent party leaders will campaign for the MCD polls.
Accordingly, senior BJP leaders Rajnath Singh, Shatrughan Sinha, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Sahib Singh Verma, Navjot Singh Siddhu and Vijay Goel would address public meetings in more than 200 meetings.
Further, actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha, cricketer-turned politician Navjot Singh Siddhu and Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal wwill also conduct roadshows in various party of the capital.
Claiming a huge gathering had been witnessed at the BJP leaders meetings in the previous days, Mr Malhotra said,''this shows the public is fed up with the Congress rule and wants a change. The BJP is going to secure two- thirds majority in the MCD polls,'' he added.
