Hyderabad, Mar 31 (UNI) The Telangana Udyama Committee formed by the BJP today announced a series of stirs to achieve separate Telangana before the 2009 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

Briefing mediapersons after a day-long session, Committee President and former Union Minister Ch Vidyasagar Rao said as part of the stir, party activists would travel in an exclusive train christened ''Telangana train'' and call on President A P J Abdul Kalam asking him to direct the UPA Government to keep its commitment on the issue, ''articulated through the Presidential address to the joint session of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.'' The Committee wanted Dr Kalam to direct the Manmohan Singh Government to bring in a bill in Parliament for creation of the Telangana state.

The new state had to be achieved well before the next elections and this should not become an issue in the next rolls once again, he maintained.

Similar conventions would be held in all districts and intellectuals, including writers, would be mobilised in a big way to give a push to the movement for carving out Telangana from Andhra Pradesh.

As part of the struggle, the activists would get themselves arrested under non-bailable sections of the IPC and fill jails, he added.
