BJP assembly poll candidate jailed
Moradabad, Mar 31 (UNI) BJP assembly poll candidate from Moradabad City segment Vikas Jain has been sent to jail in a 17-year-old case.
Jain was booked for violating prohibitory orders during the height of Ram Janmabhoomi movement on October 21, 1990. A case was registered against him in the Civil Lines police station here.
A non-bailable warrant was issued on Jain about two-and-a-half years. The BJP leader had filed a petition for the 'recall' of the warrant last evening, which was rejected and he was sent to jail.
Other BJP leaders were also named in the case along with Jain.
They were accused of violating prohibitory orders and giving inflammatory speeches.
Jain had been avoiding court appearance since November 19, 2004 in case hearings.
