Annoyed Apna Dal leader quits party

Lucknow, Mar 31 (UNI)A senior Apna Dal leader, unhappy over the denial of ticket for the assembly elections, today announced his decision to quit the party.

Mr Munishwar Singh Maurya said he has resigned as general secretary of the party as he was denied ticket by party president Sone Lal Patel.

''He has denied ticket to people from the Maurya community despite their contribution towards the party,'' he alleged.

Apna Dal had recently tied up with BJP for the assemly elections due April 7.

He claimed that he would campaign for SP, BSP and BJP to ensure that no Apna Dal candidate won.
