A record by local vernacular
Chennai, Mar 31 (UNI) For the first time in the Tamil newspaper industry, Dinamani, a leading vernacular daily is rolling out a 164 page special supplement along with its 12 page main edition today.
This is in addition to the 32-page booklet Siruvar Mani for children, which is distributed free along with Dinamani on Saturdays.
Titled Thanga Thamizhagam (Golden Tamil Nadu), the record-making supplement is dedicated to Tamil Nadu's existence as a separate state for 50 years, after the reconstitution of the Madras Presidency on linguistic lines.
The supplement contains essays and reports that discuss and debate the past, present and future of this vibrant State and its people.
It is also a tribute to some of the historic and progressive steps taken by successive Governments to uphold social justice and equality. The articles also trace the political and economic developments in the State over the past five decades.
The collector's edition is priced at Rs eight.
