Party workers being falsely framed: MP Cong

Bhopal, Mar 30 (UNI) The Opposition Congress today alleged in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly that party workers were being framed in false cases of loot, rape and attempt to murder for their participation in the Assembly by-election in Raisen district's Udaypura constituency.

''Political rivals are being thus framed,'' Mr Rajesh Patel (Cong) said in a call- attention notice relating to a few criminal cases registered at police outposts in the district this month.

Minister of State for Home Nagendra Singh, in his reply, said a senior officer from the police headquarters would be deputed to probe into the matter. Stating that the investigation in the cases was still in progress, he assured that no action would be initiated against the innocent.

He denied that Opposition workers were being thus framed with a vengeance and claimed that police inquiry was ''impartial''.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi said the issue of creating an uniform cadre of assistant Ayurveda and Homoeopathy doctors would be placed before the Cabinet within a month. His assurance came during debate on a call -attention notice moved by Indrajeet Kumar (Cong), who alleged that the regime was not acting on its assurances in this regard.

Congress members Ramniwas Rawat and Govind Singh staged a walkout, expressing dissatisfaction over Revenue Minister Kamal Patel's reply regarding cancellation of land pattas (title deeds) granted to tribals prior to 1980.

Mr Patel stood his ground that tribals dwelling in forests prior to 1980 were not evicted, addING that 3,767 pattas were cancelled in Sheopur district.

Mr Rawat alleged that holders of pattas approved by the Bhoodan Board prior to 1955 were among those being displaced.

Leader of the Opposition Jamuna Devi also sought to raise the issue of eviction of tribals from forests but Speaker Ishwardas Rohani did not permit it.
