Mehbooba condemns Rajouri massacre

Srinagar, Mar 30 (UNI) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti today strongly condemned the massacre of five Hindu labourers by gunmen in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir late last night.

''It is a senseless and barbaric act against poor labourers,'' she said in a statement here.

Ms Mufti said the gruesome incident was the handiwork of the enemies of humanity who were out to sabotage the ongoing peace process in Jammu and Kashmir.

The perpetrators would gain nothing by shedding the blood of innocents and such barbaric acts should strengthen the resolve for consolidating the peace and normalisation process in the state for the larger welfare of the people, she added.

M Mufti said with the normalisation process gaining strength, the elements inimical to peace would themselves get isolated.

She said the bloodshed must stop immediately as the people of Jammu and Kashmir have suffered immensely for several years.
