Iran to consider Turk request to free Briton: TV
Tehran, Mar 30: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will consider a Turkish request for Iran to free the only woman among a group of 15 British naval personnel detained last week, state television reported.
It said Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan asked Ahmadinejad to free the Briton in a telephone call to Iran's president today.
Iran initially said it would free Faye Turney but then suspended the move, citing Britain's behaviour.
''He will give the necessary order to study Turkey's request in a positive manner,'' state television said in a report on the telephone call.
